A 17-year-old Prince Albert boy accused of shooting another teen in the face made his first court appearance Thursday.

The 17-year-old is charged with attempted murder and reckless discharge of a firearm. He was arrested hours after a 15-year-old boy was shot Tuesday afternoon on the 1700 block of Prince Albert’s 14th Street West.

The victim has since been stabilized and is receiving care in a Saskatoon hospital, according to police. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police said the accused teen was found with a gun when he was arrested.

He will be back in court Tuesday for a bail hearing.
