Saskatoon’s third homicide of the year was not random, major crime investigators believe.

Police were called early Tuesday morning to the 100 block of 25th Street West after a report of gunshots. A female body was discovered outside the building.

An autopsy performed Wednesday identified the victim as a 55-year-old woman — who police are not naming at request of her family. She died of “injuries consistent with violence,” a police media release stated.

Investigators are still looking for suspects and do not believe the incident was a random act.

Police officers deployed the police robot Tuesday as part of their investigation. Major crimes and forensic investigators, as well as emergency response team members, were also called to the scene.
