Police investigating the disappearance — and potential homicide — of a 23-year-old man are searching for information on a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
RCMP say police seized the 1982 car after receiving tips from the public. Investigators believe the vehicle may have played a role in Troy Napope’s disappearance — which is being treated as a homicide — and are asking anyone who may have seen the Monte Carlo to come forward.
Napope was last seen May 27 and 28 at a party on the 1400 block of Prince Albert’s 12th Street West. A vehicle he was driving the morning of the 28th was found burning northwest of the city — just off Whitefield Road — that same day, according to RCMP.
He was reported missing June 6, and though neither he nor his remains have been found, investigators with the RCMP and Prince Albert police believe he was the victim of foul play and are treating his disappearance as a homicide.
Police previously sent out a media release looking to speak with anyone who was in the Whitfield Road area on May 28, who saw Napope or who saw anything unusual. Now investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the Chevrolet Monte Carlo on May 27 or 28 to contact officers.
Anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP’s major crimes north unit at 1-306-975-8952 or Crime Stoppers.
