Prince Albert woman collects donations to make Christmas hampers for community
A Prince Albert woman is spreading holiday cheer by organizing Christmas hampers for those in need.
Karen Pelletier says she saw on social media there were families in the city who wouldn't have access to a nice Christmas dinner.
She shared a request for hamper donations on a Prince Albert Facebook page.
"There seems to be like a lot of negativity," said Pelletier. "I'm like, I'm going to throw some positivity your way and let's see how it's handled. And actually, it was really good. Everybody was really responsive."
Pelletier says she received plenty of support in food and cash donations.

The recipients will be determined by a raffle that has been made up of the first 100 people to comment.
Pelletier says she received about $500 to buy food along with a dozen turkeys.
She hopes to have enough food to make 20 hampers which will be delivered by Pelletier and her family.
"I'm blown away," said Pelletier's son, Michael Clarke. "She's put in all this effort for these strangers here, and, you know, it's nice to see."
The family's goal is to start deliveries in the next few days so the hampers will be given out in time for Christmas.
