One person has now been charged after a deadly confrontation on a property in rural Saskatchewan.

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the RM of Glenside, near Biggar.

Police say five people drove onto a rural property and were confronted by the property owners, who were outside. The owners did not know the people in the vehicle.

A verbal exchange took place between the two groups, and a gun was fired.

One of the men in the vehicle was shot in the altercation. Emergency crews were called, but he was declared dead at the scene.

According to police, one of the property owners was taken into custody, along with three people – a man, a woman, and a girl - who were inside the vehicle.

Police were still searching for another boy, but say they have now located him.

Gerald Stanley, 54, of Biggar has been charged with second degree murder in connection to the death of the shooting on the farm.

He made his first court appearance Thursday morning in North Battleford.
