Feds agree to help Biden transition after more Trump defeats

After weeks of fraught delay, the U.S. federal government recognized President-elect Joe Biden as the "apparent winner" of the Nov. 3 election on Monday and gave the green light for co-operation on a transition of power. The move came after President Donald Trump suffered yet more legal and procedural defeats in his seemingly futile effort to overturn the election with baseless claims of fraud.

Canadian Armed Forces to formally apologize to victims for sexual misconduct

The commander of the Canadian Armed Forces is preparing to formally apologize to victims of sexual misconduct. The apology comes after, but is separate from, a $900-million settlement agreement that the federal government reached with current and former military members, as well as civilian Defence Department employees, last year after class-action lawsuits were brought against the Forces.
