A heavy police presence outside the Confederation Inn led to multiple arrests Monday afternoon.

The Saskatoon Police Service surrounded the building around 12 p.m. after a stolen vehicle was located in the hotel’s parking lot. Police say the call originated from an RCMP report of a stolen vehicle from Spiritwood, Sask.

Upon arrival, officers immediately arrested three men nearby on suspicion of possession of stolen property.

Saskatoon police Sgt. Tonya Gresty said a fourth man fled the scene on foot.

"We pursued and we were able to make that apprehension,” Gresty said. “He's also under arrest for the possession of stolen property along with the other three males, as well as an obstruction charge."

Eight police cars were on scene at the incident’s peak. It’s unknown how old the arrested suspects were or if they were known to police.
