The president of a company in Watrous, Sask. has been fined $2,800 for requiring employees to repay wages.

Dwight Hayter of Manitou Beach Pool Inc., which operates as Manitou Springs Mineral Spa, pleaded guilty in provincial court to violating Saskatchewan’s Labour Standards Act.

The province says the company recently repaid nearly $4,700 in wages to two employees. The charges were laid in April 2015.

Employment standards officers began investigating after receiving anonymous and public complaints alleging the employer required employees to return wages they had been paid.
