Randy O’Hagan left court spewing profanities.

The 24-year-old was found guilty Thursday at Saskatoon Court of Queen's Bench of first-degree murder in the death of Lorry Santos, a Saskatoon mother of four who was shot in a case of mistaken identity. He was given a life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.

The judge said there was overwhelming evidence to convict O’Hagan.

Santos was shot in her home while answering the door in September 2012. Court heard O’Hagan had ties to the White Boy Posse, a street gang, and came to Saskatoon to kill another man who had left the gang. A miscommunication of text messages led to O’Hagan travelling to the wrong house and killing Santos.

The murder was an act of drug-fueled stupidity, the judge said.
