A 43-year-old man is facing numerous charges after police say a seven-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Saskatoon.

Michael John Slough, from Willow Bunch, Sask., was arrested last Thursday after a joint investigation that included the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit and Coronach RCMP.

Charges include the administration of a noxious substance, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, two counts of making child pornography and a charge of possessing child pornography.

The alleged offences happened between December 2009 and January 2010, according to police.

The young girl has since been identified and is currently being cared for in a safe and healthy environment, police say.

Investigators believe there are more victims. The victims are thought to be adult females. Police are asking them to come forward.

Slough, who is originally from Saskatoon, made his first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday. He will be back in court Wednesday.
