Two northern Saskatchewan communities are again being evacuated because of wildfires.
Tammy Cook-Searson, chief of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, wrote in an email Wednesday evening that officials had declared states of emergency in Sikichew Lake and Clam Lake Bridge.
A fire is threatening the communities, Cook-Searson wrote. The province’s Wildfire Management is advising the communities to evacuate.
“We have started to move people to Hall Lake and are in the process of making arrangements for accommodations,” the email read.
The people of Sikichew Lake and Clame Lake Bridge, alongside residents in several other northern Saskatchewan communities, were forced from their homes earlier this month because of wildfires.
