A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run about four kilometres north of Prince Albert on Friday afternoon.

RCMP received a report of an injured man on Highway 2 North around 12:00 p.m. Police say the man was hit by a vehicle and the driver fled the area.

The 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The man was from Montreal Lake and police will not be releasing his name.

Traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions while police investigated. It reopened late Friday afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing.
