A threat prompted the closures of two Lloydminster schools Friday.

Classes and all activities at Holy Rosary High School and Ecole St. Thomas were cancelled ahead of the school day after the high school received a threat early in the morning.

“A threat was made to our high school. We take all threats seriously and are working with the RCMP as they investigate,” a Facebook post published just after 6 a.m. read on the Holy Rosary High School page. “As a precautionary measure we are closing Holy Rosary High School and Ecole St. Thomas.”

No details on the nature of the threat were provided.

Parents were asked to keep their children at home.
