Three women, ages 18 to 19, are in custody and facing a number of charges after they evaded police Saturday morning.

Around 9 a.m., police noticed a car that matched the description of a vehicle that had been driving erratically earlier that morning.

The officers tried pulling the vehicle over, but the driver refused to stop.

The suspects traveled southbound on Avenue I before they disabled the vehicle by striking the curb, which caused the front tires to deflate.

According to police, the women had also thrown a gun out the vehicle’s window while they were evading officers. The gun was recovered on the side of the road.

The three women are facing charges of evading police, firearm offenses, and breach of undertakings.
