Three men are facing several drug charges after a bullet was fired through the patio door of an east-side Saskatoon apartment Monday evening.

Witnesses told police they saw a male fire a handgun from the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 800 block of Kingsmere Boulevard just before 6 p.m. Officers found a hole in the patio door of a second-level apartment that was consistent with a bullet.

No one was home at the time of the shooting.

A 24-year-old man is charged with possessing cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possessing the proceeds of crime and breaching probation, police said in a media release.

A 19-year-old man faces charges of possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possessing weapons — a machete and brass knuckles — dangerous to the public peace, and possessing the proceeds of crime.

A 20-year-old man is charged with possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possessing the proceeds of crime.

All three were scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court Wednesday.

Police said they discovered 1.5 kilograms of cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia when they were searching the apartment. Three men, including an apartment resident, arrived at the residence as officers were conducting their investigation. They were found to be in possession of 38 grams of marijuana and $1,600 in cash.
