Saskatoon police are investigating after a disturbance at the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre overnight.

Police were initially called to the correctional centre at 11:30 on Sunday night, but staff at the site was able to deal with the incident without officers.

Investigators are still determining if any charges will be laid.

This is the second incident in the last week at the facility. Six inmates are facing charges after allegedly attempting to escape.
Police were called to the jail just after 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21. A
spokesperson with the Ministry of Justice says the incident happened at a dorm that houses 30 low-risk offenders.

Investigators say that six men between 18 and 31 years of age have been charged with mischief over $5,000 and escaping custody. They were arrested shortly after police were called to the jail.

An internal review of that incident is expected to take place.
