An early morning car accident in Saskatoon has left on person dead, and another in hospital.
It happened just before 6:30 am Sunday in the area of 8th street and McOrmond Drive where police and fire fighters discovered a vehicle laying on it's side and partly submerged in a slough.
Staff Sgt. Murray Grismer with the Saskatoon police says mergency crews used hydrolic rescue tools to remove the roof of the vehicle in order to free the occupants.
"The first male extricated from the vehicle was the driver and he was rushed immediately to RUH hospital with undetermined injuries at the time, which have now been upgraded to life threatening. The second male, who has yet to be indentified, was pronounced dead at the scene"
The man taken to hospital was the driver of the vehicle, while the victim who died was the passenger.
The Coroners Office along with the Collision Analyst Unit and Forensic Identification Section are investigating.
