The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to two fires on Monday night.

Just after 7:00 p.m., crews responded to a fire at a detached garage in the College Park area.

Flames were shooting from the structure when they arrived.

No one was inside the garage and crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the house.

The cause of the fire has not been determined yet, but damage is estimated at $60,000.

At 8:46 p.m., crews responded to a house fire on the 200 block of Avenue M North.

When they arrived, they found the house was filled with smoke. Some of the eight residents were already out, while some were still inside.

Firefighters made sure everyone was out before tackling the fire, which was in a basement bathroom.

The cause of the fire has been ruled as accidental. Investigators believe it was caused by electrical failure of a bathroom plug. Damage is estimated at $1,000.

No one was injured.
