A 10-hour standoff with police ended early Thursday when officers entered a home in the Forest Grove neighbourhood and took a man into custody.
A 42-year-old man was taken to hospital with what police called an undetermined illness.
No one was injured in the incident, but police say the man will face assault charges once he is released from hospital.
Police received a call from a person at a home in the 1600 block of Laura Avenue at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday reporting a man acting violently towards others at the location.
When police arrived, the only person remaining in the house was the male suspect and negotiators were called in to communicate with the man.
