Five people are facing over 60 charges after police seized guns, swords, cash and drugs from three Saskatoon homes Wednesday night.

Police executed search warrants at homes in the 1400 block of Avenue B North, the 400 block of Henick Crescent and the 200 block of George Road around 8:30 p.m. Investigators seized a loaded handgun and shot gun, ammunition, dozens of swords, $40,000 in cash, four ounces of cocaine, 190 grams of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Four men between the ages of 19 and 25 and a 58-year-old woman were arrested and face over a total of 60 charges. Charges include trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and numerous firearms-related offences.

The arrests and charges stem from a week-long investigation by the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team, according to a police media release.

The Emergency Response Team, patrol members, the Special Investigations Unit and the Integrated Organized Crime Unit assisted in executing the search warrants.

The five arrested are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court Thursday afternoon.
