A Delisle man is lucky to be alive after the car he was driving collided head-on with a tractor-trailer unit early Friday morning.
The accident happened at about 3:20 a.m. on Highway 7 just east of Vanscoy when a westbound Chevrolet Malibu collided with semi-trailer unit travelling eastbound, Warman RCMP said in a news release.
The driver of the car, a 19-year-old male from Delisle, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Royal University Hospital by MD Ambulance. The driver of the transport truck, a 33-year-old man from Sturgis, was uninjured. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
A police collision re-constructionist attended the scene and traffic on Highway 7 was restricted to one lane until 7 a.m.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision and police are continuing the investigation.
