RCMP are calling the second death of an inmate at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary on Wednesday suspicious.
According to RCMP, officers were notified that an inmate had been found dead in the Penitentiary at 8:35 a.m. An investigation has confirmed the death of 37-year-old Christopher Van Camp is suspicious. An autopsy will happen later this week.
RCMP Major Crime Unit North, Forensic Identification and General Investigation Sections continue to investigate.
Prior to the discovery of Van Camp’s body, another inmate from the facility died. Daniel James Tokarchuk, 44, was pronounced dead in hospital just before 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
