Two teenage girls are facing charges after a Saskatoon woman was robbed at knifepoint early Thursday morning.

Police said a 42-year-old woman was walking in the 1000 block of 20th Street around 1:45 a.m. when she was approached by two girls armed with knives. They demanded cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

The victim was not injured.

The suspects were found by police a short time later and taken into custody.

A 14-year-old girl and 16-year-old girl are charged with armed robbery and breaching undertakings in relation to the incident.
