Ten people have been detained by police after a standoff in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.

Heavily armed police surrounded a home on the 100 block of Avenue O South midday Wednesday shortly after an officer spotted a person wanted on arrest warrants enter the house.

Several officers and police cruisers, as well as canine units, were seen in the area. An armoured police vehicle was also called to the scene.

A police spokesperson, who was on scene, said officers were unsure if there were any guns in the home.

The standoff came to an end shortly after 3:30 p.m. with officers placing several people, in handcuffs, into the back of police cars.

Saskatoon police tweeted around 4:30 p.m. that the residence had been cleared and that 10 people were detained.
