A review of surveillance footage from a North Battleford aquatic centre hasn't identified a suspect in an alleged child abduction attempt earlier this week.

An eight-year-old child was allegedly approached by a man at the aquatic centre on Carlton Trail around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The man asked the child to go somewhere with him, according to an RCMP news release. He then attempted to grab the child after the child refused to leave with the man.

The suspect, described as Aboriginal male with a pony tail and glasses, left the area in a vehicle. He was wearing black swim trunks.

The area and aquatic centre were searched by police upon receiving the report, but a suspect was not located.

North Battleford RCMP say all available surveillance footage has been reviewed in connection with the incident but no suspects matching the description of the male in question were found. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Battleford RCMP.
