A spray plane clipped a power line in Sandwith, Sask., Tuesday afternoon.

A Battleford’s Airspray pilot was finishing spraying a canola field when he drove under a neighbouring home’s power lines, striking the lines.

“Upon impact, it caused the plane to veer into our front yard only metres above ground,” Mick Allchurch, the neighbour, told CTV.

The pilot recovered the plane and flew back to North Battleford. A small piece of debris was left on Allchurch’s lawn.

“My wife and kids were watching the plane and ran into the house, thinking it was going to crash in our yard,” Allchurch said.

Allchurch called the owner of Battleford’s Airspray, who he says is an old friend. The owner confirmed it was one of his planes, according to Allchurch.

The family was without power for approximately 3.5 hours.
