Seven people are facing second-degree murder charges after a 17-year-old boy was killed in Pelican Narrows.

RCMP were called early Saturday morning to a home in the northern Saskatchewan community. A 17-year-old, identified by police as Hilliard Sewap Jr., needed medical attention and was taken by RCMP to the Angelique Canada Health Centre where he was pronounced dead.

Police initially called the death suspicious, and on Tuesday confirmed the death as a homicide. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in Saskatoon.

Five adults, ranging between 18 and 28 years old, and two youth are accused in the death. All are charged with second-degree murder.

Three of the adults have since been arrested. They were scheduled to appear in Pelican Narrows Provincial Court Tuesday morning.
