Saskatoon police are looking for two men who fled a vehicle reported as stolen early Monday morning.

Police say a patrol car with two officers inside was nearly hit by a vehicle that disobeyed a stop sign at Forrester Road and Fairmont Drive around 5:20 a.m. The officers tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled northbound on Fairmont Drive. The vehicle continued at a high speed eastbound on Fairlight Drive and then eastbound on 22nd Street, police said in a news release. Officers ended the chase at 22nd Street and Whitney Avenue, while the suspect vehicle continued on 22nd Street into the westbound lanes at Avenue W. Police say the vehicle crashed into a power pole at 22nd Street and Avenue T while trying to turn and stopped near 23rd Street. The two men inside the vehicle fled on foot. No members of the public were injured.

The K9 unit tried to track the men but was unsuccessful. Police found a mask and replica handgun inside the vehicle. The vehicle was later reported as stolen after a break and enter at a house.
