A Saskatoon radio host chopped off his locks for a good cause Friday.

Pat Dubois, from 92.9 The Bull, donated his hair to charity during the Children’s Hospital Radiothon after making a promise to chop his locks if listeners raised $5,000 in one hour.

Dubois’ campaign — dubbed the Man Bun Power Hour — came down to the wire but managed to greatly exceed its goal. A few last-minute donations pushed his fundraiser’s total to $6,000.

Dubois' hair was 11 inches long and he had been growing it out since May 2014.

The 35-hour Radiothon event raised $604,587.56 to help the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan fund a new pediatric ambulance and the provincial maternal and children’s hospital.
