Prince Albert has some of the best drinking water in the Prairies, according to results of an annual taste test.

The city ranked second in the American Water Works Association “Best of the Best” water taste test, which was held in Calgary in October. Municipalities in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta took part in the fourth annual competition.

In July, Prince Albert and North Battleford temporarily shut down their water supply intakes after as much as 250,000 litres of blended crude oil leaked from a Husky Energy pipeline into the North Saskatchewan River.
