Police are searching for two suspects after an attempted mugging in which a gun was fired.

Around 9:30 p.m., police received a call about an attempted robbery minutes earlier in McDonald Park at Massey Drive and Northumberland Avenue.

A 19-year-old man was walking through the park when he was approached by two other men, police said in a media release. One of the men attempted to rob him. He grabbed the suspect, and there was a struggle.

According to police, the suspect grabbed a gun from his waistband and pointed the gun at the teen. The victim told police he walked away, and when he was about half a block away, he heard a gunshot.

The first suspect is described as approximately 18 years old, about 5-8 to 5-9 in height, with a thin build and dark hair. He was wearing a black Adidas hat, a dark sweater and white shorts.

The second suspect is described as approximately 14 years old, 4-7 in height, wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up.
