Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the Saskatoon airport Tuesday afternoon following reports a plane was having issues with its landing gear.

The air-ambulance plane was dispatched to Fond-du-Lac , Sask. to pick up a patient, but as the plane was approaching the community, crew members realized potential landing issues. The air ambulance turned back to Saskatoon and a different plane was dispatched to pick up the patient.

The air ambulance, upon arriving over Saskatoon, was forced to circle the runway three times before a crew on the ground could determine the plane’s landing gear was in place.

The plane landed safely after about an hour and was quickly towed away.

Authorities said a four-person crew, made up of airplane and medical staff, were on board. No patients were in the plane.

No one was injured.
