David Prokopchuk is again seeking to win a provincial legislative seat for the Progressive Conservative Party.

Prokopchuck, who ran in March’s Saskatoon Meewasin byelection, announced Monday his intention to seek the party’s nomination in the upcoming Saskatoon Fairview byelection.

“I had committed to running in this riding in the next general election, and it has always been my first choice for a constituency to run in,” Prokopchuk said in a media release.

He was one of four candidates who lost to the NDP’s Ryan Meili in the March byelection.

The Saskatoon Fairview seat opened up this week after the Saskatchewan Party’s Jennifer Campeau stepped down to take a job with Rio Tinto in B.C.

A byelection must be held within six months to fill the vacant seat. Candidates do not need to live in the constituency they are running in.
