A 31-year-old man found naked Wednesday evening underneath the Broadway Bridge was taken to hospital after an incident in which he assaulted a police officer.
A police officer located the man just before 7 p.m. after receiving a complaint from a passerby, Saskatoon police said in a news release.
The man fled along the Meewasin Trail when he was approached by the officer, police said. A struggle ensued in which additional officers had to be called in order to subdue the individual.
The original officer was assaulted during the incident and received minor medical attention.
The man was taken to hospital with suspected psychological issues.
Police say an investigation into the incident of indecent exposure and assaulting a police officer will begin once the man receives medical treatment.
