There is a final date of work for employees at the Maple Leaf Foods pork processing plant in North Battleford.

Production employees will finish up on March 29, 2013. Maintenance workers will stay on until the end of April disassembling the equipment and cleaning the plant.

About a year ago, Maple Leaf announced it was closing a number of its plants as part of a restructuring plan. The closure of the North Battleford plant means 332 jobs will be lost.

The City of North Battleford has set up a task force to help employees and their families determine options. It is also focusing on attracting new investment opportunities to the plant.
