A 23-year-old man is dead after falling out of a moving vehicle.

The accident happened just before 1:30 Tuesday afternoon on Highway 11 South near the cloverleaf at Circle Drive.

Police said there were three men traveling in a truck when the 23-year-old sitting by the passenger door intentionally opened it. Police said they don’t believe drugs or alcohol were a factor, and they don’t suspect foul play.

"It simply seems to be a case where someone decided to get out of that vehicle at 90 kilometres per hour. Why that happened - we don't know,” said Staff Sergeant Grant Obst.

Drivers who saw the man fall out of the truck stopped to try and help. The man was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.
