Saskatoon’s new Traffic Bridge will start taking shape next week.

Construction crews will begin putting up the south span of the structure, the city says.

The last remaining piece of the old bridge is scheduled to come down in November.

The new Traffic Bridge will resemble the original bridge but will be wider.

The structure is part of a project that also includes construction of the North Commuter Parkway bridge. Part of the North Commuter work includes upgrades at Circle Drive and Attridge Drive, which are expected to wrap up by November.

Both bridges are scheduled for completion by October 2018.
