A motorist faces charges after and cyclist was struck by a vehicle Sunday morning in Saskatoon.

A 40-year-old male cyclist was eastbound on Ruth Street at the intersection of Lorne Avenue when he was struck by a northbound vehicle just after 11:30 a.m., Saskatoon police said in a news release.

The cyclist was taken to Royal University Hospital in stable condition with injuries to his upper body and head.

Police say charges are pending against the female driver of the car.
