The community of Langham is rallying to support the family of two boys killed and two others injured in a crash on Highway 16.

A GoFundMe page, set up late Tuesday morning by a family friend, had raised more than $2,600 in less than 12 hours.

The collision, which occurred near Langham early Monday morning after a pickup truck carrying seven people crashed with a semi-truck hauling vehicles, left a four-year-old boy, a nine-year-old boy and a 26-year-old woman dead.

Two other boys, ages five and 11, were sent to hospital in serious condition alongside the pickup’s driver, a 32-year-old man from Regina, according to a spokesperson for MD Ambulance. A 46-year-old man from Moose Jaw, who was also in the truck, was transported to hospital in critical condition.

The friend who set up the fundraising page told CTV News the truck’s driver was the father of three of the boys and an uncle to the other boy. The woman who died was his girlfriend while the other man was the driver’s co-worker, according to the family friend.

The page is aiming to raise funds to help with funeral costs and to help the boys’ mother and aunt care for her surviving son and nephew.

All four boys were from Langham.

The lone driver of the semi-truck, a 53-year-old man from Martensville, was also taken to hospital, according to RCMP. Police did not know the extent of his injuries.

Shyster’s Tavern in Langham is also accepting donations for the victims and their families.
