Drunk driving charges are expected after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday night in Saskatoon.

A 28-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of 22nd Street West just before 11 p.m. when she was hit by a vehicle whose driver had lost control, Saskatoon police said in a news release.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but police said they are not considered life-threatening.

The investigation is continuing and drinking and driving charges are pending against the 29-year-old male driver of the vehicle.
