We’ve all heard of the cat that came back the very next day.. but it took Arielle Denys’ cat Oscar a little longer. Two years.

Oscar went missing from his home in May of 2011. Deney said she looked for him every single day for the first five months.

“I never did lose hope. But I did come here (to the SPCA) a lot during those first couple months. They actually ended up just saying ‘We will call you!’ so I just let it be and was hoping that he would come back one day. And here he is,” Denys said.

Oscar was spotted yesterday on 10th Street W by CTV Prince Albert staff, who then called the SPCA to report the noticeably shaken-up cat. When staff from the SPCA picked up Oscar, they recognized him from a missing cat poster. Oscar was reunited with his owner yesterday afternoon – something she could barely believe was true.

“At first I was like no. You know, it had been like seven cats. But then I thought, you never know, miracles do happen. Then I saw the cat and I was 99.9 per cent positive (it was Oscar). I showed the cat to my mom and we knew. And he’s acting like himself again today so yeah, its him!” said Denys.

The feline is in good shape, but as to where he was living for the last two years — we may never know.

“I don’t know,” said Denys. “But I’m sure if he could talk, he would have quite the story to tell.”
