The city is reminding homeowners that Thursday, June 30 is the last day to pay property taxes. With the possibility of a Canada Post service disruption, the city is suggesting alternative ways to pay:

  • Internet banking, which can take up to two days or longer to be processed
  • In person by cheque, cash or debit at city hall. It’s open until 5 p.m.
  • In person at most banks
  • City hall drop boxes. There are two drop boxes outside of the city hall main entrance, but only drop off cheques – do not deposit cash.

If you’ve already paid your property taxes, you can check your account balance by calling the city to ensure payment has been received. A penalty of 1.25 per cent per month will be in place if payment isn’t received after June 30.
