Drivers are being warned to watch for moose following two crashes within three hours on the same Saskatchewan highway.

The Wadena Volunteer Fire Department posted photos on Facebook this week showing the aftermath of a Highway 5 collision involving a car and a moose.

The crash, which happened Sunday at about 8:15 p.m. just east of Kuroki, Sask., was the second collision involving a moose that evening, according to the fire department. The first occurred at 6 p.m., also on Highway 5, just west of Wadena, Sask.

The driver in the second collision was taken to hospital in Wadena with undetermined injuries, the fire department wrote.

No one was injured in the first collision.

The fire department also posted that a local food bank picked up the animals. The food would be given to those in need, the post read.

Wadena and Kuroki are located in east-central Saskatchewan, roughly 200 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
