A three-vehicle collision just west of Prince Albert Wednesday has left one girl dead and two other people in hospital.
The girl was the driver of a westbound SUV that crashed head-on with another SUV on Highway 3, near Whitfield Road, according to RCMP. A third vehicle, a truck, collided with the two SUVs following the head-on crash.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 4 p.m.
The 16-year-old, from Prince Albert, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released.
The occupants of the eastbound SUV were taken to hospital in Prince Albert.
A Parkland Ambulance official said Wednesday the two, a 24-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, were in good condition and stable.
The truck driver, a 50-year-old man, was not injured.
Mounties and the coroner’s office are still investigating.
Police say alcohol was not a factor.
