The Saskatchewan SPCA has seized 25 horses from a property near Wynyard after an investigation showed constant neglect. They're now being housed in undisclosed locations.

The seizure cost the organization $7,000 and now they’re faced with the task of caring for them until new owners are found. The SPCA has a caregiver program to help with long and short-term care, but they don’t have enough to care for the many horses.

The seizure included seven brood mares, one weanling, three colts, one stallion, seven fillies, and two miniature horses. The two mares with foals have already found caregivers, but the SPCA is looking is still looking for people to adopt the other animals as well as temporary caregivers for the meantime.

The animals have had various levels of handling, and some of the younger animals might still need to be halter broken.
