A young Prince Albert student has been presented with one of the cities top honors - the Terry Fox Award.

Tristan Albert attendeds W.L.A Turgeon school, where he was presented with the award in front of his family and classmates. The award is given annualy to the person deemed to best exemplify the traits that made Fox famous - a never give up attitude and a positive outlook on life.

"Hes been through a lot" said Patricia Albert, Tristan's mother. "He’s had stomach surgeries, heart surgery, and battled leukemia. But he never lets it get him down."

Mayor Greg Dionne was on hand to give Albert his award, and said he believes they chose the perfect winner.

"This is a young boy who always has a positive outlook on life, always has a smile on his face. You look at what hes been through, and he chooses to focus on the good, not the bad, just like Terry did. I'm proud to give him this award,” he said.

Patricia Albert said her son was beyond excited when he found out he would recieve the award. "He was so excited, telling everyone he would be getting this award, this big award. Just so, so happy,” she said.

Albert will be officially presented with the award at a city council meeting on March 25th.
