Icy roads are being blamed for a school bus crash in north-central Saskatchewan.

Emergency crews were called to the Highway 35 crash, about 20 kilometres north of Tisdale, Sask., around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.

A school bus driver lost control of the vehicle and the bus flipped onto its side in the ditch, RCMP said in a media release.

Four kids, between six and 10 years old, were on board.

No one was seriously injured, according to police. The kids and bus driver were all treated at the scene.

The highway was closed for about a half-hour as a tow truck retrieved the bus.

Saskatchewan was hit with strong winds, rain and snow late Tuesday night and Wednesday. The province’s Highway Hotline is not recommending travel on several roads.
