National Geographic is releasing a special Canadian travel list, and Saskatoon has made the cut.

The list is a collection of the top 50 places to visit in Canada, and Saskatoon is the only Saskatchewan city to make the urban spaces section.

The spot on the list comes with a feature article that talks about where to stay, what to eat, and what to do while in the Bridge City. The article also touches on the fact that Saskatoon has year-round festivals and entertainment like the Jazz Festival, Winter shines, and the Fringe Festival.

According to Tourism Saskatoon, the city has been happily surprising travel writers for a while now.

“We’ve got something going on continually. We’ve got amazing properties to stay at, whether they’re downtown or north of the city. We’ve really got the whole package,” said Angela Moore, director of media for Tourism Saskatoon.

Moore said it’s difficult to gauge actual figures, but said that the number of people coming through the airport in Saskatoon supports that tourism is growing in the city.
