RCMP are investigating a sudden death on Mistawasis First Nation.

Officers were called to a residence on the First Nation at around 4:40 a.m., Friday. According to police, a 28-year-old woman was unresponsive at the home. She was taken to hospital in Shellbrook, where police say she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is scheduled in Saskatoon on Monday.

RCMP Major Crime Unit North is investigating the death, along with Shellbrook RCMP, Prince Albert Forensic Identification Section and the Office of the Chief Coroner.

RCMP said they can provide no other information at this time.
