Saskatoon police say they believe a 14-year-old boy is responsible for the recent shooting death of another teen.

Officers were called Monday, around 6:45 p.m., to a home on the 300 block of Avenue Q South in the city’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood. A 15-year-old boy — who police earlier incorrectly identified as a 16-year-old — was found dead on scene.

An autopsy has since concluded he died of a gunshot wound.

Police said in a media release that investigators have interviewed witnesses as well as a 14-year-old boy they believe is responsible.

Officers are still working with Crown prosecutors to determine the type of charge — or charges — to be laid.
